Constipation and Soiling (Level one)
Bladder & Bowel UK and Qufora are delivering two lunchtime learning sessions for healthcare professionals supporting children and teenagers.
This Bladder & Bowel UK Lunchtime Learning session will cover the prevalence, causes and impact of constipation, along with approaches to its management. It will include the role of medication, diet, fluid intake and behavioural interventions as well as provide information about resources that are available to support families and healthcare professionals.
The session will be based on evidence and current NICE Guidance. It is relevant for all healthcare professionals who work with children and families in any setting, including those whose children have additional needs.
Objectives: Following this Bladder & Bowel UK lunchtime learning, delivered in partnership with Qufora, delegates should:
- Know the prevalence, impact and causes of constipation and soiling
- Understand the wider factors that may impact
- Be aware of the first line treatments and interventions
- Have the confidence to work with children and families where constipation and soiling is an issue
- Be able to find further resources, information and support
