Overview
Bladder & Bowel UK and Qufora are delivering two lunchtime learning sessions for healthcare professionals supporting children and teenagers.
This Bladder & Bowel UK lunchtime learning session will build on the information provided in the level one session. Healthcare professionals who are new to the care of children with constipation are advised to undertake the level one session before this session.
Objectives
Following this Bladder & Bowel UK lunchtime learning, delivered in partnership with Qufora, delegates should:
- Understand the laxative options available to treat constipation and the usual doses in children and teenagers
- Be aware of intractable constipation and its management
- Understand the role of investigations in constipation and when these should be considered
- Have knowledge of alternative interventions, including rectal options
- Be able to support children, teenagers and their families to adhere to treatment programmes
