SPEAKER
Michael Way, Advocate, Ampersand Advocates
Michael Way is a Scottish advocate in the Ampersand stable at the Faculty of Advocates. He called to the bar in 2019 after qualifying as a solicitor with Brodies LLP. He holds degrees from Oxford, King’s College London and Edinburgh. Michael’s practice at the bar spans both commercial and public law disputes, including both pursuing and defending consumer rights and housing law challenges. He was appointed as a standing junior to the Scottish Government and as an ad hoc advocate depute in 2022. Recent published cases include West Lothian Council v Scottish Ministers 2023 SLT 175 and Morrice v Scottish Ministers [2002] CSOH 77.
