Join us for the first in our new series of cookery classes! This time we're celebrating the humble cabbage by making kimchi and dolma.

Ever had a cabbage lurking at the back of your fridge, sad and unloved? Or seen a sub-20p, yellow-sticker cabbage at the supermarket, but didn't take it home because you didn't know what to do with it?

Then fear no more! Join us for a two-hour cookery class at Bakehouse, where we'll take you through the process of making some delicious vegan cabbage dishes, one step at a time.

Suitable for total beginners but also fun for cooks with a bit of experience, we'll be pickling cabbage, fermenting it to make kimchi, and wrapping it around some savoury fillings to make our take on dolma.

  • Cook Like Bakehouse is a new programme of pay-what-you-can weekly cookery classes at Bakehouse, a pay-what-you-can cafe in Great Yarmouth
  • We want to empower people in our town with money-saving, nutrition-boosting cookery skills
  • All dishes prepared will be vegan, though we cannot completely guarantee that there will be no cross-contamination with dairy products or other allergens, even if not listed as an ingredient
  • No need to bring anything except yourself!
  • Suitable only for those aged 16 and over
  • It's free to book, but we would hugely appreciate a donation if this is something you're able to do
  • Similarly, please tell us if you book but are then unable to make it, as places are limited and we want to make sure every class is full
