About this course

This course aims to help build understanding of healthy eating and ways to save money.

  • Cooking for One - This session will show learners how to make healthy and cost-effective choices, analyse appealing recipes and compare Imperial and metric measures. Learners will also learn how to correctly portion recipes for the number of diners expected.
  • Overnight Oats - This session focuses on making a healthy breakfast, recognising what healthy ingredients are, and using measures to mix the correct amounts. Learners will be able to take home the breakfast, store it in their fridge and consume next day.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:-

  • Calculate the cost of ingredients.
  • Analyse the government ‘Eatwell guide’.
  • Identify appealing recipes and use proportion to adapt for one person.
  • Create a balanced plan.
