COP26  Data Hackathon

The Department of Engineering Science has an international reputation for its research in all the major branches of engineering, and in emerging areas such as biomedical engineering, energy and the environment. We place a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary and collaborative work, both within engineering science and across the physical, medical and life sciences. The Department also has an excellent record of engagement with industry, and has generated numerous successfulspin-out companies.

To promote the understanding of climate risk in future energy systems, the Universities of Oxford and Reading working in partnership with the UK Met Office, are hosting a virtual (online) 5-day hackathon on 21-25 June 2021. There will also be a half day scoping event which will be held on the 18 May (2-5pm) which participants need to be available for. The goal of the hackathon is to produce novel solutions for understanding and quantifying climate risks in future energy systems. By registering for the event, you have given consent to receive mailings about the Hackathon.
