The UK will host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow on 31 Oct - 12 Nov 2021. With some Fit for the Future members attending COP26, some attending associated events and others keeping up to date virtually; the outcomes of this conference are eagerly awaited.

What will COP26 actually mean for individual organisations?

This virtual event will focus on the outcomes of COP26 with members being able to start identifying challenges and opportunities. Most importantly the event will provide members with the platform to start working together to provide clarity and support in developing and delivering strategy to meet COP26 goals.

The event will include:

• An overview of COP26 outcomes. To include updates (where available) from members that attended COP26 on what they found most valuable and significant.

• Group discussion and feedback on COP26 outcomes. to include:

o Actions already taken/being developed

o Identifying challenges and areas of uncertainty

o Identifying where the Fit for the Future network can provide support and guidance. Such as member events that focus on specific COP26 outcomes e.g. low carbon heating targets and/or Government (associated) speaker events to provide clarity, link to guidance and support etc

o Identifying member resources and guidance that can be shared throughout the network

o Developing next steps and opportunities

This event will be useful to all members, regardless of previous COP26 experience or knowledge.
