Travix & Arrows Group are collaborating to bring together like-minded people from the Java community to discuss the advances in Java and the development of the brand new Java 9.

We have 2 guest speakers who are well known in this community, Raoul-Gabriel Urma and Richard Warburton.

Raoul-Gabriel has written the best selling book Java 8 in Action: Lambdas, Streams, and functional-style programming, and worked at companies like Goldman Sachs, Google and eBay.

Richard has also written a book on Java 8 Lambdas and has worked in many areas, which include Static Analysis, Compilers and Statistical Analytics.


The event on the 28th will run as follows:

6:00pm - Food/drink & Networking

7:00pm - Introduction to Travix & what the team has been building at Travix in the last 2 years


7:30pm - Exclusive speakers Raoul-Gabriel Urma & Richard Warburton, discussing key updates & improvements with the next exciting version of Java: Java 9, entirely live-coded. They will both discuss their experience with the new REPL in action, including Streams, Collectors, Optional and Completable Future.

8:00pm - Question & answer session, networking and drinks
