A free one-day symposium on corpus linguistics research, and its interdisciplinary potential
About this event
Corpus linguistics is a firmly established method and discipline within language and linguistics research. Recent events and papers, moreover, indicate that many opportunities lie in the capacity for corpus linguistics to engage with other disciplines and frameworks, and provide new perspectives on long-standing questions, issues and methodologies. This one-day symposium, in collaboration with the British Association of Applied Linguistics Corpus Linguistics Special Interest Group and the Languages@Leeds Corpus Linguistics satellite, brings together researchers working across languages, linguistics, education, and computer science to present their work and share their experience and expertise. We hope to build up our network of interested researchers within the University of Leeds, and contribute to the vibrant corpus community in the UK and internationally.
The event is open to all academic staff and students. Early career researchers, postgraduate researchers, MA and undergraduate students are especially welcome.
Please see the event website: https://www.latl.leeds.ac.uk/corpus-linguistics-past-present-and-potential/ for more information about the talks.
The event will take place on campus at the University of Leeds. All talks will also be livestreamed on the day, for those who are unable to make the trip to Yorkshire.
When registering for the event, please select the ticket option to indicate if you wish to attend in person or virtually.
