Cosmic Coffee is Space Park Leicester’s informal community meet-up bringing together:

  • Academics
  • Industry partners
  • Start-ups
  • Innovators across the space & advanced engineering ecosystem

Expect short, punchy insights followed by plenty of time to connect over tea, coffee and cake.

We usually welcome around 30–40 attendees, keeping things friendly, relaxed and genuinely useful for sparking new ideas and collaborations.

This session’s theme: Space & Advanced Manufacturing

We’ll explore how cutting-edge manufacturing is shaping the future of space, including:

  • In-Space Assembly and Manufacturing (ISAM)
  • Materials research for space applications
  • Additive manufacturing and emerging capabilities

Format

  • Welcome and introduction (hosted by Space Park Leicester)
  • Three short, informal talks – around 5 minutes each
  • Open networking with refreshments

Speakers include:

  • Daniel Hao – sharing insights from his UK Space Agency-funded robotics project
  • A materials-focused perspective on space applications
  • A short overview of additive manufacturing activity within the Space Park Leicester ecosystem

No heavy presentations — just a few slides to spark conversation before diving into networking.
