Cosy Concert 'Clangers' with Estelle on recorders, Eleanor Turner on harp
Event Information
Description
The music of the current series of Clangers on the BBC is by John Du Prez. It is just as charming and unique as the original Clangers music, using similar instrumentation and descriptive style, but with film composer John Du Prez's unique qualities. Du Prez has kindly agreed for Eleanor Turner, the international concert harpist based in Stamford, Lincolnshire, to use his wonderful music in this Cosy Concert and has shared a lot of the scores with her. The instruments used with be mainly different recorders, plus the harp, which are both used heavily in the Clangers music. There will also be narration, a musical box of discoveries and lots of slide whistles. Every child will go home with a TINY (buit working) slide whistle, free with your entry ticket! Recorder player Estelle Langthorne will also play Music for a Bird and some really mysterious Gordon Jacob music. This will be a concert full of wonder and discovery!
