Could technology help elevate my creative practice? [Part 1]
Overview
Hosted by Creative Edinburgh, Creative Circles runs every month.
This event is a free, casual monthly meetup for creative freelancers who want to learn, grow, and connect. Each month explores a different topic designed to support and develop creative practice, led by an invited speaker. There’s time to take a break from work, share ideas and experiences, and wrap up by networking with other creatives and meet new collaborators in the city.
Techscaler proudly sponsors Creative Circles.
Creative Circles is a free event which is open to anyone to attend.
February's Conversation - Could technology help elevate my creative practice? [Part 1]
Are you a storyteller, artist, designer, performer or creative practitioner who has wondered how technology could support, or even transform your creative practice? Join us for the first part of a two-part series exploring how creatives can build simple, achievable digital offerings to support and elevate their work.
This session will get you thinking about how digital tools and technology can turbocharge your current practice, freeing up more time for the creative work that matters most to you. We’ll address common fears around technology and explore how tech could take things a step further, opening up possibilities for creating your own digital or tech-based product. And the best part? No technical experience required!
The session will include group discussions and guided individual activities, so come ready to take part, share ideas, and get hands-on.
This session leads directly into Part 2: A 'vibe coding' workshop, where you’ll develop one of your ideas into a practical, early-stage digital concept!
Open to all creatives, at any stage of their practice.
About our Speaker
Claire Wheelan, Techscaler
Claire is a dedicated startup educator and community builder who has spent over seven years at CodeBase. Claire’s role focuses on the development and delivery of educational content to support founders in growing and scaling their ventures. Her expertise is built on a foundation of small business marketing—where she often operated as a one-person team—and experience in the creative industries working across live music venues and Edinburgh Fringe Festival productions.
A passionate advocate for diversity in technology, Claire is deeply committed to creating pathways for underrepresented groups to enter the sector. She actively serves on the board of Prewired, a coding club for under-19s, and runs Digital Skills 4 Girls in Edinburgh. Her work is defined by a focus on social impact and a community-first approach to ecosystem growth.
