Courageous Conversations (F2F Truro)
Level 2 (Expanded Knowledge) Domestic Abuse & Sexual Violence Training
This half day training course is designed for colleagues working in health, education and any community-based service to provide individuals with tools and confidence to have a courageous conversation – often known as DARE – Domestic Abuse Routine Enquiry with adults, children and young people and families who might be impacted by Domestic Abuse.
In order to book onto this course you will need to have completed Level 1 Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence training.

- Saves- The stages of Routine Enquiry
- What language should be used
- How to ask an individual about their potential abusive behaviour
- How to ask an individual about abuse they may be experiencing
- How to ask questions confidently when you don’t feel confident
Booking Conditions
This training is funded only for individuals who work and/or reside in Cornwall & Isles of Scilly, United Kingdom. If you are booking with an address outside of Cornwall, please contact us via email in advance to ensure your booking is not cancelled. Out of county bookings will be cancelled without warning. Participants are expected to have their camera on throughout the duration of the course. Visual cues play an important part in the facilitator being able to recognise how delegates are feeling and to monitor the wellbeing of the group. Keeping cameras on also encourages engagement and communication; This is an interactive course with activities throughout.
Laptop sharing between attendees within the same workplace is not permitted. Each person attending the training must be signed up individually and using their own device. We offer bespoke group training, please contact us if you feel this would best suit your organisation.
Cancellations can be made through your Eventbrite account, or via 'Manage my booking' on the original booking confirmation. Non attendance and failure to cancel your booking will result in an email sent to your line manager with details of the missed session, and the commissioning team will be made aware of repeat non-attendance.
By booking a space on training, you understand that your booking information will be shared with Cornwall Council, commissioners, and funding providers as part of funding requirements.
