The Coventry Society and Coventry Green New Deal are organising a community engagement meeting about the current Planning Consultation.

Coventry City Council is reviewing its Local Plan which was approved in 2017. The public are invited to give opinions and submit them by 29th September, but it is an extremely complicated document and much of it is constrained by national policies. It deals with all aspects of our environment – housing, transport, location of public services, shops, green space, housing etc. The review will shape the Local Plan for the next twenty years, so it is very important that we get our ideas in. The Coventry Society and Coventry Green New Deal are working together to prepare a written response but we would like your input.You are invited to come to this public meeting where you will be asked to describe what, in your opinion, makes a neighbourhood a good place to live. At the meeting you will hear more about the Local Plan, our response to it so far and then you will be asked to discuss with others what would improve your neighbourhood. We will take your ideas and incorporate them into our written response. It is possible that definite recommendations will emerge from your ideas. The meeting will be in the format of a round tables workshop and we will encourage everyone to contribute to the discussion. C﻿ity Councillors and council officers will be present to answer any technical questions about the planning process but this is a community led event. T﻿he venue is Diamond Rooms 1 and 2 in the Council House.
