CPD evening: practical ideas for coaches
Free CPD event.
To celebrate the start of the FIFA World Cup, Teesside University is hosting a free evening sharing practical coaching ideas for grassroots sport, club volunteers and player support.
Speakers:
Craig Tears will explore common injury patterns, early warning signs and the impact injuries can have on player wellbeing and participation.
Kieran Smith will share insight into how Middlesbrough FC develops physical capacity across the academy pathway, including practical ideas for building fitness into football sessions.
Matthew Wright will look at how movement skills can support long term player development, reduce injury risk and help young people build a positive relationship with physical activity.
While many of the examples will focus on football, the ideas will be useful for people working across grassroots and community sport more widely.
There will also be time to meet other coaches and club volunteers, share ideas and visit Teesside University’s Centuria and BIOS facilities.
