About this event
Join us, online, for an interesting talk on the subject of: Internal Design Ideas to Promote Accessibility, part of the Disability and Inclusion Series
Date: Thursday 9th June 2022
Time: 2pm 45min – 1hour Talk plus Q&A
Venue: Online
Tickets: Members Free / Non-members £5
This session will focus on physical aspects of design, such as horizontal and vertical circulation, and how we can plan these to maximise accessibility. We will also look in more detail at general factors such as colour contrast, surface textures and lighting and the importance of considering every physical and sensory aspect of a design proposal. We will look at architectural details such as handrails, their importance to both accessibility but also the historical character of a building. We will also use this session to look at signage and wayfinding in more detail, how to ensure people can maintain independence and find their way around without installing something that is inappropriate or imposing.
Combination Ticket Available for All Four Talks at £18 for non-members. (FREE FOR MEMBERS)
Other Talks in the Series:
