CR Talent

Croydon Music and Arts is a service that works to ensure children and young people in the borough have access to creative opportunities. We work as part of a network of local partners that include the majority of Croydon state schools, a range of cultural organisations and alternative education services.
 
As a music service for children and young people we work with a team of expert instrumental and vocal teachers to provide high-quality music education in Croydon schools for beginner to advanced players.
 
Learning to play an instrument is just the beginning. We provide music groups for all tastes with a range of bands, orchestras, choirs and more. Performances take place throughout the year in impressive venues around Croydon and further afield, including regular tours abroad by the senior groups.
 
As an arts service, we support schools to develop their arts curricula, and work in a range of partnerships to provide accessible out-of-school arts opportunities for children and young people.

Wandle Park

<h2>Croydon Music and Arts presents CR Talent</h2><h3>One of the London Borough of Culture's flagship events.</h3><p>On 13th July, young performers will be taking over Wandle Park for CR Talent, a FREE festival celebrating Croydon’s culture, diversity and talent. There will be electrifying performances of live music and dancing; plenty of delicious food and drink. </p><p>From Disney songs medleys to rap with a live orchestral, CR Talent will have something for everyone to enjoy!</p><p></p><h3>There will be two sections:</h3><h3>Schools Festival: 12:30pm to 2:15pm</h3><p>Experience the performances from 1,000 performers from Croydon Music and Arts and local primary schools. </p><p>Expect crowd participation and fun for the whole family!</p><p><strong>Performances include:</strong></p><ul><li>A Disney songs medley with choirs and a full orchestra</li><li>Songs from South Asia with Anusha Subramanyam from Beeja (Dance company) </li><li>Songs from Jamaica and Nigeria with Marlon Hibbert from Kinetika Bloco (South London performance group)</li><li>Sufi Stomp from South Asian Suite by Arun Ghosh (musician, composer and performer)</li><h3></h3></ul><h3>Youth Arts Festival: 5:30pm to 8:00pm</h3><p>Young people performing original music as well as arrangements of popular songs including:</p><ul><li>Stevie Wonder, Blur, The Beatles and Starship.</li><li>Croydon-connected musician: Stormzy, The Kooks and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor </li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Guests alongside young performers will be:</strong></p><ul><li>Still Shadey (MOBO award winning, Croydon-based rapper) </li><li>John Kelly (Singer and disability rights campaigner)</li><li>A﻿run Ghosh (Indo-Jazz Musician) </li></ul>

<h2>Travel and Entry Information</h2><p>O﻿n Arrival</p><p>There will be one entry point into the event space (Wandle Park Tram Stop Entrance). Security staff will be scanning everyone into the site and carrying out bag checks</p><p>Parking</p><p>There is no car parking available at the event site. If you wish to drive to the event, please park in Croydon Town Centre Car Parks and take the tram to Wandle Park Tram Stop or walk to the site which takes roughly 10 minutes from the Town Centre.</p><p></p><p>Croydon Tramlink</p><p>Take the Croydon Tramlink to Wandle Park from East Croydon, Beckenham Junction, Elmers End and Wimbledon.</p><p></p><p>Bus</p><p>Routes 157, 264, 407, 410 &amp; 455 stop at Rectory Grove next to the park. Routes 289 and 663 stop at Waddon Post Office stop on Purley Way which is an 8 minute walk to the park.</p><p></p><p>London Overground</p><p>Catch the London Overground to West Croydon and then catch a bus or walk to the event which takes roughly 10 minutes.</p><p></p><p>National Rail</p><p>From Central London: Regular express services are available from Victoria Station or London Bridge Station to East Croydon, then catch a tram from East Croydon Tram stop to Wandle Park Tram stop. From Croydon, South London and Brighton: There are a range of local rail services available at both East Croydon and West Croydon Stations.</p>

<h2>Accessibility</h2><p>There will be an info point to go to and talk to someone if you have any access needs, e.g. needing to have a viewing space closer to a signer.</p>
