Line manager communication has been that nut that is difficult to crack. So let's talk
about why.

There’s never been a more challenging time for line managers to engage their teams. During Covid-19, some line managers have stepped up and recognised the importance of good clear communication and others have struggled. As communicators we often depend on line managers to get the corporate message to employees and to translate it into business performance, but we know there are challenges. In these times of change and crisis the needs are amplified and so are the challenges.Without the ability to meet most people physically, new ways of working are being stretched further than we expected and now we face the new challenge that there is constant change for organisation from both internal and external factors. So what does this mean for line managers and what does this mean for employee communication in the future.<ul><li>Join our webinar to share experiences and know how about the things that work and the stuff that goes wrong too. </li><li>The discussion will be facilitated by CIPR Inside members Chaya Mistry, Fiona Hatton and Madeline Porter</li><li>Come along to share your experiences and learnings with other internal communications professionals and take away some tips to use in your organisation. Our CIPR Inside Committee members will share their experiences and tips for success and provide feedback on your ideas.</li></ul>Committee members <ul><li>Chaya Mistry is a coach and consultant who champions strategic communication that creates positive human connection. As owner of her company; Humanly, she coaches leaders and supports communication that enhances listening, conversation and connection. She has 14 years of in-house experience in the energy industry and a varied background including a mix of psychology, public relations, internal communication and is a qualified business and personal coach. She is British but lives in The Netherlands.</li><li>Fiona Hatton specialises in corporate internal communications and believes that a great organisational culture starts with clear purpose and strong leadership. With almost two decades experience across PR, marketing and internal communication, Fiona is currently deputy head of internal communication at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, and is on a mission to discover how line managers can make working life better for staff, boost engagement and strengthen organisational messages.</li><li>Madeleine Porter is an internal communications professional with a strong belief in putting employee experience at the heart of strategic communications and a keen interest in the role of neuroscience in employee engagement through change.
 Currently Head of Internal Communications for Reach plc, the UK’s largest news publisher, she is facing similar challenges to a number of IC people – including engaging teams remotely and supporting business through transfomational change.
