Making it happen: “The feminists leading an ethical fashion revolution.”With a mantra of ‘no sweatshop, no Photoshop’, Birdsong is an emerging fashion brand with ethical and feminist principles at its core. Birdsongrevolutionise the way we shop, bysourcing their products from a variety of women’s organisations. Their founders Sarah and Sophie, are targeting their generation of millennials who want to look great, but not at any cost.From refugee seamstresses to octogenarian knitters, the brand brings together women with non-traditional backgrounds. Combining the skills of these women's groups with the talent of young contemporary designers, Birdsong bring their brand to life using street-cast models.

Natural Dyeing with SALT Textiles
Sunday 2nd December, 11.30am - 1pm
Join SALT Textiles x Beyond Retro for an introduction into natural dyeing. You’ll learn about the processes of natural dyeing, how to create dyes from plant and food waste and how you can repurpose clothing using conscious processes. No experience needed.
SALT Textiles is a multidisciplinary project by Jordan Storm Louise. Working from her studio in Hackney, East London, Rosy draws, paints and glues stuff together for a number of various clients. Rosy favours simple yet often time consuming handmade techniques and modest materials to make paper collages, drawn ink patterns and art deco inspired shapes. Rosy works freelance across a range of fields including illustration, props and accessories. She’s done work for Selfridges, Ace hotel, Estee Lauder, Jigsaw, Hoi Polloi, Lazy Oaf, Nike, MAC, Adidas, Grazia, Vogue, ELLE, Dazed, Vision, Wallpaper, and iD magazine.

The award-winning knitwear designer be teaching you how to create festive pom-pom accessories and one-of-a-kind Christmas tree decorations with all the materials and kit included, as well as drinks & festive nibbles! A great way to spend an evening with friends making sustainable, unique Xmas crafts!
