Join us for Crafternoons - where creativity meets community! These relaxed sessions are perfect for adults of all skill levels - whether you're a seasoned crafter or complete beginner. Connect with fellow makers, learn new skills, and be part of an inspiring creative community. All materials provided. Make something meaningful while making new friends at your local library!
For May, we will celebrating Local and Community History Month by making cyanotypes (or collages if the sun isn't out!) incorporating Lewisham Libraries Local History Archive and your own personal history! There will be two sessions, Saturday 10th May 2-4pm at Catford Library and Tuesday 27th May 5-6.30pm at Deptford Lounge.
Workshop Details
In this special session, you'll have the opportunity to:
Work with fascinating materials from Lewisham's local archives
Create personal cyanotype prints featuring your own meaningful objects
Learn about this historic photographic process
Take home your completed cyanotype prints as unique artwork
Bring Your Memories
We encourage you to bring items that hold personal significance – objects or documents that tell your story or connect to your heritage. Flat items work particularly well, such as:
Old letters or postcards
Pressed flowers or leaves
Family photographs (copies rather than originals recommended)
Lace, jewellery, keys, or small mementos
Tickets, programs, or other paper ephemera
These items will be arranged on light-sensitive paper and exposed to create beautiful silhouettes and textures that preserve your memories in a new artistic form.
No experience necessary – all materials provided. Booking essential as spaces are limited.
