Crafting A Circular Economy Virtual Workshop: Mapping

This event aims to map circular resources for designers and makers to support collaboration and resource pooling/sharing

This virtual mapping event is part of a series of fortnightly network meetings and workshops hosted by Dr Lauren England and Julian Leedham (aka Varioustudios). These events aim to bring together designers and makers to explore the challenges and opportunities of the circular economy. Please note, these events will form part of an academic research project conducted by Dr Lauren England at King&#x27;s College London. Our second virtual workshop will be held on the 15th May 2020 via zoom in 1hr sessions (repeated). Available times are: 10-11am, and 12-1pm. To facilitate an engaged discussion, we are limiting numbers to 20 participants per session.At the start of each session we will introduce the research project and activities. For this workshop we are focusing on mapping resources (organisations, places, materials) that support the work of designers and makers. This will be followed by a group discussion about how the map and resources identified could be used to support collaboration and resource pooling/sharing between designers and makers. As a follow up to this session, attendees will be sent a short (optional) survey that aims to understand how designers and makers engage with the circular economy and use their networks in relation to developing sustainable or circular products and businesses. In later sessions we will be diving deeper into the issues and topics that attendees identify as areas of interest. The joining information for the zoom meeting and links to these online activities will be provided to registered participants before the event.The data collected will be used to support academic research and the creation of an online platform hosted by Varioustudios. All discussions will be recorded and audio transcribed. Participation is completely voluntary and all participants will be anonymous in any publications. Your data will be stored securely in accordance with GDPR regulations. Further information will be provided to registered attendees and at the start of the meetings. This project has been registered within the King&#x27;s College London Research Ethics Minimal Risk category.
