Practice creating a 3D digital collage with the free, open source software, Meshmixer in this interactive follow-on workshop.

<aside><em>Video credit: Ian Hankey</em></aside><h3>Workshop Details</h3><p><em>Please note that this workshop will be held online.</em></p><p>In this supported follow-on workshop to '<a href="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/create-a-3d-collage-part-1-tickets-142532298943">Create a 3D Collage: Part 1</a>' you will have the opportunity to practice putting together a 3D digital collage of your own using the open source software, Meshmixer. Acting like digital clay, Meshmixer allows you to merge multiple forms to create fantastical new designs - such as combining an eagle with an elephant! </p><p>This free software is a state of the art platform for working with triangle meshes; the format of most digital 3D forms that are found in open source free design libraries, such as <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Thingiverse</a>.</p><p><strong></strong></p><p><strong>Digital Badges</strong></p><p>By taking part in this workshop, you will gain a Smart Citizens Digital Badge that can be added to your CV, email signature or LinkedIn profile to highlight your new skills in digital design and fabrication.</p><p><strong></strong></p><p><strong>Workshop Requirements</strong></p><p>This event will be hosted through Google Meet (no sign-up required). You will be required to download Meshmixer, a free open source software, prior to attending this session. Further details provided upon booking.</p><h3></h3><h3>Who is this workshop for?</h3><p>This free workshop is open to everyone and is perfect for those wanting to explore a new, unique aspect of 3D digital design. Previous experience of using 3D computer aided design (CAD) is highly recommended but not essential.
