About This Workshop
"Create & Calm" is a low-pressure, process-based art workshop designed entirely for relaxation and stress relief. In this session, there are no mistakes, no grades, and absolutely no prior art experience is required. We focus entirely on the feeling of making, not the final product.
Through soothing, tactile mediums like fluid watercolour washes and meditative repetitive patterns, you will learn to use art as a personal tool to unwind, ground yourself, and decompress from the noise of daily life.
Led by two HCPC registered art therapists, this session offers you the opportunity to experience how art can be used as a tool to aid relaxation.
What to expect:
A safe, pressure-free space where we will share with you art techniques that are calming, these can be used outside of the session, giving you more tools for your emotional wellbeing toolkit!
Bring your own art materials.
Please bring:
- Paper A4 size or larger!
- Watercolour paper if you want to use watercolours
- Watercolours (water and brush)
- Permanent black marker
- Pastels or crayons
- Felt tips
- Tape or something to hold the paper down such as a few heavy books
- Anything else you would like to use

- Absolute Beginners: If you haven’t picked up a paintbrush since school, you are welcome here.
- The Overwhelmed & Busy: Anyone looking for a pause such as but not limited to; parents, carers, students,those wanting ideas to help de-stress.
