CREATE Dance for Dementia Research Workshop

Join us for an online workshop to explore the future of research in dance for dementia. All welcome.

CREATE Dance for Dementia is a one-year project seeking to Cocreate a REsearch Agenda To facilitate Equitable Dance for Dementia. We are running a series of research workshops to bring together those living with dementia, carers, researchers and dance organisations to advance our understanding of rights-based ways of working in research on dance for dementia. The project is led by the <a href="https://www.ed.ac.uk/health/research/centres/ecred/createdford" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Edinburgh Centre for Research on the Experience of Dementia</a> in partnership with <a href="https://www.scottishballet.co.uk/join-in/sb-health" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Scottish Ballet</a> and <a href="https://www.dancebase.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dance Base</a> (Scotland's National Centre for Dance).W﻿e recently held a 1-day workshop to creatively explore research priorities and ethical considerations relating to dance for dementia projects. As a result of this workshop, we now have lots of ideas for what might be included in a research agenda for the field. We now want to share the development of this agenda with a wider audience to gain further insights and build on what we learned from our first workshop. And also engage in more dancing of course!S﻿o, join us for this ONLINE workshop if you're interested in supporting the development of a research agenda in the field of dance for dementia. It will include:<ul><li>S﻿hort online dance activities led by Dance Base and Scottish Ballet</li><li>F﻿acilitated discussions on research topics, including using creative methods</li><li>A﻿ short film screening of activities and learnings from our first workshop. </li></ul>F﻿or those living with dementia, we will pay you £30 (in high street shop gift vouchers) for your time to attend. The vouchers will be sent to you following the workshop.W﻿e hope you can join us! All welcome.P﻿lease note that you will be sent a Zoom joining link to join the event closer to the workshop.
