Overview

A relaxed afternoon of creative writing and self-editing in one of Glasgow's most beautiful courtyard spaces. Leave feeling inspired.

Join book editor and author coach Kirsten Rees for a relaxed and inspiring afternoon of creative writing and gentle self-editing, set in one of Glasgow's most beautiful courtyard spaces.

This workshop is designed to help you slow down, think clearly, and reconnect with your writing in a calm and supportive environment. It's not a formal, classroom-style session, it's a welcoming space to explore ideas, try simple techniques, and enjoy writing alongside others.

Kirsten will guide the group throughout the afternoon, offering gentle direction and encouragement, with plenty of space to ask questions, share ideas, and learn together.

Whether you're just starting out, feeling stuck in a draft, or looking to build confidence in shaping your work, you'll leave with fresh ideas and a renewed sense of direction.

What to expect:

  • Gentle writing prompts to spark new ideas
  • Simple, practical self-editing techniques
  • Time to write, reflect, and think
  • A warm, supportive group setting

Tea, coffee and a pastry are included, with the option to upgrade your ticket to include a glass of wine for a more relaxed, social afternoon.

Who it's for:

  • Aspiring authors
  • Writers who feel stuck in their drafts
  • Anyone wanting more confidence with their writing

A welcoming space for everyone

This workshop is open to all, regardless of background, experience level, age, identity, or ability. We want everyone who attends to feel comfortable, respected, and free to engage in whatever way works best for them.

We are committed to creating a kind and inclusive environment where all participants are treated with warmth and consideration, and we ask that everyone extends that same respect to others in the group.
