During Create your career week, sessions delivered will aim to support participants to:
- Start career planning with advice from C&E
- Practice preparing professional documents for upcoming applications, interviews or creative projects you are focused on.
- Gain insight on how to build and maintain professional connections for your career.
- Get access to resources and useful signposts to support you with your employability queries and needs.
These sessions are designed as a mix between lecture-style and participant-led workshops. Providing a space for you to not only gain (or renew) knowledge and insights for your employability, but to apply and tailor it to your creative career needs.
Who are our sessions for:
All sessions delivered by careers support are for UAL pre-degree, undergraduate and postgraduate students, UAL alumni and UAL graduates only.
This session is particularly beneficial for:
- Current students across all UAL colleges interested in finding out about where paid opportunities are for creatives and creative roles.
- International and home students who want to receive insights on the UK jobs market and what to consider when looking for paid work.
- Current students who want to gain insights on different ways to look for work opportunities for their creative career alongside study.
About the workshop:
During this session, participants will explore and define the different types of opportunities that exist within the UK jobs market, how to access work opportunities (different ways to look for roles) and finally receive advice from our careers experts on what best practice to consider when you are applying for a paid role.
This session will be hosted as a hybrid session, and will not be recorded.
How to Prepare?:
All participants who sign up to attend the workshop will receive access to the "Create your career week" padlet a week before [from Monday 10th November]. It will include pre-recorded videos, activity sheets and useful resource links to the UAL Careers Toolkit.
These will compliment the session to help you make the most of it. Be sure to keep an eye on your inbox (and sometimes spam folder) so you don't miss out on the pre-session materials!
