Place-Based Community-Led Regeneration: From Drip Feed to Flow

In 2024 Joseph Rowntree Foundation commissioned Really Regenerative CIC to study the enabling conditions for place-based community-led regeneration to flourish. In partnership with RegenLabs in Australia, we looked at two core questions:

What conditions and capacities enable communities to steward holistic, regenerative transformation of their places, at the level, longevity and depth required by the polycrisis?
How - as a philanthropic organisation - can Joseph Rowntree Foundation play the most catalytic role in accelerating regenerative place-based transformation across the UK?

This webinar will share the findings of this comprehensive report. The report provides an in-depth look at the enabling conditions for place-based regeneration to flourish including insights from regenerative innovators and projects from Australia, New Zealand, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, The US, Europe and south-east Asia.

Additionally, the report also explores the hopes and expectations of private, philanthropic and family office funding in relation to place and regeneration, and how the gaps between ambitions on between funders and community could be bridged.
