Creative Book Binding

`Back by popular demand! We're delighted that expert book binder Carole King is returning with these two wonderful workshops on Saturday 17th October.

You can book individual sessions or come along to both, just be sure to select the correct options at checkout.

10am - 12.30pm

Turkish Map Fold Books

Intriguing books that fold out into large square pages from pentagonal covers. These books open into a sculptural form that can be decorated with pictures, text or patterns. You'll learn origami skills to fold the pages and create the covers for your book insertion.

The book will be covered with your choice of Lewis & Wood patterned paper and finished with ribbon ties for closure. It will contain seven large pages of coloured, white or Lewis & Wood paper. The finished size will be 15x15cm.

2pm - 4.30pm

Concertina Books

Make an A5 book, portrait format, suitable for journaling, photographs or scrapbooking. Add pockets, sewn in extra pages, envelopes and decorate with collaged images.

Your book will be covered with your choice of Lewis & Wood patterned paper and contain multiple pages of heavyweight cartridge. It will also include ribbon ties for closure. The finished size will be 16 x 22cm.

Refreshments are included in each session and those booking both sessions will be offered a buffet lunch too.

Carole King is a bookbinder, artist and teacher from West Wales, who exhibits throughout the UK at galleries and craft events. She creates hand stitched and bound books, hand printed papers, cards and book binding kits, which are available at Nant Designs.
