Garden maker Duncan Nuttall will be looking at constructing garden rubble walls from waste

In this one-day workshop, unique to Hilldrop, garden-maker Duncan Nuttall will be looking at constructing gardens from waste.Rubble walls will be a main focus with participants learning the approach to creating these hands on. Other uses of rubble will be looked at and people can also bring their ideas to be discussed to create an open dialogue about how we build gardens and why.The wall created by Duncan at Hilldrop - see pictures - is one of our most asked about features and something we are very proud of.

Duncan Nuttall is one half of the design and make practice <a href="https://www.ameld.co.uk/" title="https://www.ameld.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">AMELD.</a>Their ethos is responding to the surrounding landscape in a carbon light manner to create artistic gardens. Duncan's focus is on stone and all things repurposed and reclaimed, building structural elements in ways that respond to the local vernacular and function in a manner that has biodiversity integration included.

The workshop starts at 10:00 and finishes at 16:00. Please wear sensible clothing that you don't mind getting dirty.Lunch and snacks will be provided during the day, but please contact us immediately with any allergens.Parking is available. We are a short cab journey from the train station - Laindon or Horndon on the Hill are the nearest.
