Pitching at Festivals: How to Win International Co-Productions
Getting a project fully funded from a national broadcaster or streamer has become increasingly difficult. International co-production, in both scripted and unscripted, is one way to turn the dial on your financial plan. I have successfully pitched at a range of UK, European and North American industry events including: PFM, DocsBarcelona, Hot Docs in Toronto, MediMed, East Doc, Jets Berlin, and Mip London. I used hate pitching but now I enjoy it. I've learned a lot, especially about how commissioners from different countries engage with stories and formats, and I'd like to share that with you. In this session we'll work as a group to create a pitch for a panel of European commissioners.

New Tech for Screen
This 45–60 minute session provides an essential roadmap for TV and Unscripted professionals to navigate the rapid convergence of traditional broadcasting and emerging technologies. We will drop the hype to examine the concrete impact of Virtual Production, Extended Reality (XR), and Generative AI on current workflows. Participants will explore UK-specific market data and how brands like the BBC’s The Green Planet are successfully expanding IP into immersive story universes. The session concludes with a look at national and regional funding and support opportunities through key organisations like CoSTAR and Innovate UK to help professionals future-proof their creative TV businesses and careers.
