Are you an arts and humanities researcher, who is looking for new ways to extend the reach and impact of your research? Does your research show possibilities to access different funding opportunities and think about new models to deliver impact at scale and to support your research in the future?The Creative Launch Fund is a joint innovation fund for early-stage projects in the arts and humanities, funded by the Shared Prosperity Fund, Scottish Funding Council, the University of Glasgow's Innovation Fund, and, the Entrepreneurial Campus. It has been established to support innovation and entrepreneurship in the Arts &amp; Humanities, and is offered in partnership by the University of Glasgow, the Glasgow School of Art, and The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The next round of funding applications will be open from 13th of November, with further guidance available at the launch.This fund will be launched by Professor Sir Anton Muscatelli, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Glasgow and Uzma Khan, Vice-Principal for Economic Development and Innovation, and Deputy Chief Operating Officer at the University of Glasgow. Our launch event on the 13th of November will be showcasing this exciting fund intended to provide more opportunities for Arts and Humanities researchers to develop impact at scale. Attendees will be able to engage in a fantastic networking opportunity and meet likeminded researchers, learn more about what entrepreneurship looks like in the Arts and Humanities, and hear from our great lineup of speakers.Launch attendees will also receive a brief introduction to innovation within Arts &amp; Humanities, including a spotlight on our own examples of innovation within Glasgow, followed by drinks and nibbles and a chance to network across the three partner institutions.

You don’t need to have a detailed idea or to have started an innovation project; just the willingness to explore new avenues for impact at scale.The Creative Launch Fund provides up to £10k per project for 6 months. There are a number of busses that stop on Dumbarton Road at the new building, and Kelvinhall subway station is within close walking distance. Partick Train Station is approximately 13 minutes walk from the building, or approximately 5 minutes by taxi or public transport.

Speakers BioProfessor Sir Anton Muscatelli has been Principal and Vice-Chancellor, University of Glasgow since October 2009. An economist, his research interests are monetary economics, central bank independence, fiscal policy, international finance and macroeconomics. Sir Anton is a member of the University Grants Committee, Hong Kong and chairs its Research Group. From 2017-2020 he was Chair of the Russell Group of UK research-intensive universities. He has been a member of the Scottish Government’s Council of Economic Advisers, a special adviser to the UK House of Commons Treasury Select Committee on monetary policy and has advised the European Commission and the World Bank.

Jo Gill is the Vice-Principal and Head of the College of Arts &amp; Humanities at the University of Glasgow and has previously served as Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean of the College of Humanities at the University of Exeter. She is particularly interested in poetry, American literature and the visual arts; her most recent book is Modern American Poetry and the Architectural Imagination (OUP 2022). Jo was educated at a comprehensive school near Manchester and then studied at the Universities of Leicester, York and Gloucestershire. She worked in newspapers, publishing (Faber &amp; Faber, and Cassell &amp; Co.) and the charity sector prior to taking up an academic career. Jo has previous experience as Chair of Governors at Richard Huish Sixth Form College, Somerset, and as a trustee of the Exeter Northcott Theatre and she currently sits on the Advisory Board of the “93% Club,” on the Board of South Lanarkshire College and as a trustee of the Scottish Book Trust.
