Creative Net: Recycled Beach Plastic Fish
Free workshops on the first Wednesday of every month. Everybody welcome! Materials, coffee and great creative conversations provided.
Join Jane Stewart for a creative, hands-on workshop exploring art, sustainability, and environmental activism. Using discarded plastic beach spades, participants will transform everyday waste into colourful fish sculptures.
These handmade fish will become part of a larger collaborative installation—a striking fishing net filled with reclaimed objects, highlighting the issue of single-use and low-quality beach products that often end up polluting our coastline.
The finished net will form part of a wider campaign, drawing attention to the environmental impact of cheaply made beach toys and accessories. Participants will also have the opportunity to sign a petition advocating for more sustainable alternatives, which will be displayed throughout the Waste exhibition.
Come along to get creative, contribute to a collective artwork, and be part of a small but meaningful act of environmental protest.
