Creative Passport Change Maker Forum @ Malmö
Event Information
Description
Calling all music makers: artists, song writers, producers, musicians as well as labels, music services, managers, technologists and anyone else who relates to both music and technology:
Saturday 24th of November, Imogen Heap will be holding a Creative Passport Forum at Jayway in Malmö from 12-1400. This forum is specifically for music makers as part of a design sprint weekend hosted by Jayway as part of Öredev Developer Conferences.
What is the Creative Passport?
The Creative Passport will be a decentralised* data base for all music makers - like a cross between LinkedIn and IMBD for all creatives in the music industry.
Why do we need it?
Did you know that every year 1/4 of a billion dollar industry is paid to the wrong person or not at all due to missing data?
How many times do you find yourself registering the same song but across different platforms?
Right now information and data on music makers and our work is all over the internet, unverified and often inaccurate. A data base with our verified discography, biography, details of our recordings with who played and did what on them - as well whatever else we want to be known for - will increase visibility through search ability (cos now there is…google!) which in return will make it easier to collaborate between peers and increase work opportunities across industries (films, tv, brands…you name it!)
How will it work?
Currently in development, Imogen Heap has taken the Creative Passport with her on tour holding information workshops all around the world to get feedback from music makers on our progress so far: have we solved all problems - have we solved YOUR problems? Are there others?
This is the first time a music maker -rather than a technology or investment company - has come up with a practical solution to a very real problem for the music industry. But it will only work if music makers all over the world collectively become part of this solution.
Join the discussion at the Creative Passport forum in Malmö and help us create a healthier and thriving music industry for all.
Best wishes

*decentralised means it isn’t owned by anyone. Which is why Mycelia is a not for profit organisation: It is our collective data after all
