Our second Creative Pathways talk will explore different aspects of the music industry. in conversation with Addictive TV, Lemzi and Nicola Kearey.
Lemzi is a Hip-Hop artist, musician, rapper and mentor, LEMZI. born in Leytonstone London, creates, performs and distributes music for around the world.
Addictive TV were asked to create an installation based on Orchestra of Samples for the opening event, a three day spectacular in early January 2019 which saw over 70,000 people attend! Each evening their work was projected on the Waltham Forest Town Hall every 20 minutes and featured a large number of local musicians from across the borough who they'd filmed and sampled playing all manner of instruments.
Nicola Kearey is a local folk musician, artist and advocate for roots and traditional music. Aside from singing as part of the critically-acclaimed folk band Stick in the Wheel she co-runs the independent music label 'From Here Records' and as an advocate for roots and traditional music has written for The Guardian, appeared on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour and can be regularly seen speaking on panels across the country.
The event will be held at Waltham Forest’s new creative space, One Hoe Street, and hosted by the William Morris Gallery’s Young Producers (formerly the Young Curators).
Arrive from 6.30pm for networking (light refreshments provided), talk starts at 7pm sharp followed by a Q&A.
Please note this event is aimed at young creative professionals aged between 16-25yrs.
