Part of SCRUM Theatre's West London Young Creatives programme, a series of workshops and a facilitated networking event, focussing on vital practical skills for 18-30 year olds from West London* interested in or taking their first steps or developing into a career in theatre.
In this workshop, you will have an opportunity to explore the process of producing a creative project and learn about the practical skills involved in developing and delivering a creative project. You will be able to work with other local, young creatives in West London to build skills and ask questions about creative producing.
Jerrell Cumberbatch is a young Black Londoner. After initially pursuing a career in Law, he was awarded the Freshfields Stephen Lawrence Scholarship and offered jobs at firms like Goldman Sachs. However, he turned these opportunities down to focus on working in the creative industry. Since then, he has spent years working in senior curation, production and fundraising roles on a variety of creative and cultural projects, from a grassroots to international scale, as well as delivering numerous charitable projects independently. Projects he has worked on in the live art and exhibition sphere include Glastonbury, Notting Hill Carnival, 1-54 Art Fair, St Pauls Carnival and London Design Festival. He recently conceptualised and delivered “Dreams/Sonhos”, a visual art project that showcases the dreams of 8 young people from London and Rio De Janeiro, funded by Chelsea FC. This was exhibited in Rio and the Saatchi. He has also spent years developing and delivering charitable projects that widen access to the arts/education to diverse communities facing significant inequality of opportunity. He has led the project-management of the Black Business Incubator at Somerset House and music, as well as curation/production of a community engagement programme at Shepherds Bush Market.
