The final three days 3 days takes participants through a live brief process that will culminate in an event. Working with Walk the Plank experts as a professional team, participants will experience delivering a public facing production in Dewsbury Town centre on Wednesday 25th October 2017.

What people have said about Walk the Plank’s previous courses

I’m so inspired: course content and structure was just right.

I have learnt so much this week - its changed my way of looking at my own practice.

Loved every minute, challenging and rewarding... I will take the creative learning back to my community groups.

Highlight was the privilege of working on a professional show for the public.

Walk the Plank’s training places equal value on encouraging creative thinking and responsibly sharing technical knowledge to empower creative practitioners and the producers of the future who are interested in developing their work in response to the thrills and challenges of public space.

The training into production package (worth £1000 pp) is available for free to creative practitioners who live or work within Creative Scene’s parameters of North Kirklees, West Yorkshire.

A small number of places will be made available to Creative Practitioners from the wider Yorkshire region, St Helens, Merseyside, Blackpool and Wyre and Pennine Lancashire in partnership with Heart of Glass, Left Coast and Super Slow Way.

Places are limited, so final selection will be undertaken by a panel. Selection will be based on how much the panel feels the candidate will benefit from the opportunity.

Practitioners must be available to attend the full course and be aged 16+.
