What happens if my child needs a break, leaves the room, or opts out?

Accepted Answer

Children can take breaks, move around or leave the room whenever they need to, parents will be in the class throughout. There’s no pressure to join in, finish an activity, or stay for the full session. If your child opts out unfortunately a refund can't be given for that days session.

Can I leave my child in the class?

6- 11 age group - A parent or carer must stay in the room with the child throughout,  and are invited to join in!  11- 16 age group - Parents/ carers must stay in the vicinity of the workshop and complete a short form to include their contact details.

Question 3

Can I bring siblings?

Accepted Answer

Siblings can take part - they will have to be within the specified age range of the class and a ticket must be purchased for them, unfortunately we don't yet offer a sibling discount.

Question 4

How do you support non-verbal or minimally verbal children?

Accepted Answer

Use visual prompts, demonstrations, and clear routines, and we follow the child’s lead rather than directing or questioning them. When purchasing a ticket we ask if there is anything you want to share that will help us support your child.

Question 5

Will there be noise, mess, strong smells, or bright lights?

Accepted Answer

The room is sound proofed so noise from outside won't impact, the walls are covered in fabric so noise will be absorbed.  Lights are ambient but there is no natural light.  You can see a picture of the room here:  https://www.outoftheblue.org.uk/spaces/music-room

Question 6

Does my child need to have a diagnosis of neurodivergence to attend?

Accepted Answer

No. A diagnosis isn’t required. The group is open to children who would benefit from a calm, flexible, neurodivergent-affirming environment, parents know their child best.
