About this course

Use drama games, practical activities, improvisation, devised work and discussion to explore plays by published writers.

What will be covered on the course?

  • Building up trust, co-operation, concentration and creativity through the use of drama games 
  • Discussion of themes and ideas within a play/ extract from a play 
  • Taking part in paired improvisation activities 
  • Working in small groups to bring a short script to life 
  • Working in pairs and small groups to develop an idea and created a short scene based on a published work 

What will learners achieve by the end of the course? 

  • To recall key terms 
  • To demonstrate understanding by taking part in drama games and activities 
  • To analyse effectiveness of each other’s work by offering constructive criticism 
  • To evaluate own participation in the session 
  • To create, rehearse and perform a short piece of drama in a pair or small group 

What skills or knowledge do learners already need to have to attend the course? 

  • Enjoyment (not necessarily experience) of drama and theatre  
  • A willingness to take part in practical activities and work with others

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
