Sharing a Story CIC

Join us for this  workshop where we explore how creative writing can boost your mental health and overall wellbeing.

This 90-minute workshop will offer a gentle introduction to creative writing for wellbeing using a variety of carefully selected texts for writing prompts and discussions. The main focus of the session will be to create a safe and supportive space for participants with the reassurance that there is no wrong or right way to be creative. Research shows that empowering people, through creative interventions, can build self-confidence and self-esteem. This session will encourage a positive and social focus for people, in a safe and supportive environment. This workshop is for anyone keen to connect with themselves and others through creative writing and will led by Dr Lorna Hill, founder of Sharing A Story CIC in East Lothian. It is being held to celebrate Healing Arts Scotland Week 2024. One participant who has taken part in a previous session said: “I highly recommend this. I did one of these sessions and it was brilliant. I ended up sharing something I’d written and got such a wee confidence boost but even just being there and writing really did help and I’ve been journaling almost nightly since.”
