About this event

Discover cutting-edge image analysis techniques at the fifth edition of CBIAS, where biomedical researchers and leading developers will demonstrate how these methods can transform your research.

Modern microscopy allows for the acquisition of large, multi-dimensional datasets, revolutionizing biomedical research. However, the complexity of automated analysis pipelines can be a barrier for many life scientists. Our symposium aims to bridge this gap by showcasing how advanced image analysis can answer key biological questions and enhance research outcomes.

    Symposium Highlights:

    • Explore the potential of image analysis in biomedical research.
    • Connect with experts and peers in the field.
    • Learn about the latest tools and techniques

CBIAS features a mix of invited and selected talks, poster sessions, and panel discussions focused on current topics in image analysis and image processing for microscopy and computational microscopy. We place a major emphasis on promoting early-career researchers, providing them an opportunity to showcase their work to a wide audience.

    Approximate Timeline:

    • End of August – Abstract submission deadline
    • Late September – Speakers selected from abstracts notified
    • Early October – Programme finalised

    CBIAS Workshop:

On Wednesday, November 26 and Thursday, November 27, we will host a hands-on, day-long introductory workshop on napari (registration opening soon). This workshop will:

    • Introduce image analysts to napari.org
    • Guide participants through basic analysis tasks
    • Help attendees get started with implementing plugins

The Francis Crick Institute is a biomedical discovery institute dedicated to understanding the scientific mechanisms of living things. Its work is helping to understand why disease develops and to find new ways to treat, diagnose and prevent illness such as cancer, heart disease, stroke, infections and neurodegenerative diseases.

By bringing together scientists from many disciplines, the Crick will have the scale, vision and expertise to tackle the most challenging scientific questions underpinning health and disease.
