About this courseThis is a face-to-face course for Explorer Scout Young Leaders and DoE volunteers - you must be at least 13 and a half to attend, and working towards Young Leader Scheme or Duke of Edinburgh. You must have been a Young Leader for more than 6 months and have already completed module A prior to signing up.This is the full timetable for the weekend: - you can register for individual modules, just the Saturday (08:30-17:30), just the Sunday (09:00-16:00), or the full weekend which includes sleeping over at Copley.If you are attending on both days and sleeping over you will be provided with dinner on Saturday, plus Breakfast &amp; lunch on Sunday - there will be a charge of £10 to cover food (Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast &amp; lunch).Saturday:<ul><li>08:30 - 09:00 - arrival</li><li>09:00 – 10:00 – Module E – Game on</li><li>10:00 – 11:30 – Module B – Taking the Lead</li><li>11:30-12:30 - Module C - That's the way to do it!</li><li>12:30 – 13:30 – Lunch</li><li>13:30 – 15:00 – Module F – Making Scouting accessible and inclusive</li><li>15:00 – 16:00 – Module I – What did they say?</li><li>16:00 – 17:30 – Module D – Understanding Behaviour</li><li>18:00 – Dinner</li><li>19:00 – 20:00 – Mission Workshop</li></ul>Sunday:<ul><li>08:00 – 08:30 – Breakfast for those sleeping overnight</li><li>08:30 – 09:00 – arrival for those not staying overnight</li><li>09:00 – 10:30 – Module J – Communicate it!</li><li>10:30 – 12:00 – Module G – What is a high quality programme?</li><li>12:00 – 13:00 – Lunch</li><li>13:00 – 14:00 – Mission workshop</li><li>14:00 – 15:30 – Module H – Programme Planning</li><li>15:30 – 16:00 – Conclusion and awards</li><li>16:00 – Home time</li></ul>Further information of the individual modules can be found here: <a href="https://www.scouts.org.uk/volunteers/running-your-section/running-an-explorer-unit/explorer-scout-young-leaders-scheme/the-modules/" title="https://www.scouts.org.uk/volunteers/running-your-section/running-an-explorer-unit/explorer-scout-young-leaders-scheme/the-modules/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">YL Modules</a>RegistrationUnder initial section headed "Contact Information", enter the parent/carers name and email address and click the button marked: RegisterOn the next page, enter the name and details of the Young Leader attending the course.Select the options the YL wishes to take over the weekend:<ul><li>Attend the whole weekend with an option of sleeping over</li><li>Attend one of more modules</li></ul>What happens once you have bookedYou will automatically receive an e-mail confirmation (containing details of what you have booked).If you need to amend details or cancel the booking you can do so using the "view and manage your order online" link in your confirmation e-mail.48 hours before the course is due to start, an automatic e-mail will be sent as a reminder.Any queries should be addressed to young.leader@cromwellscouts.org.ukDuring the CourseYoung Leaders will need to wear uniform &amp; neckerchief, and bring a pen and notebook.If you are staying for the whole weekend and sleeping over you will need to bring a sleeping bag, a roll mat, pillow(s), spare clothes, night wear and wash kit.Food<ul><li>Everyone who is attending on Saturday and staying over lunchtime will need to bring a packed lunch.</li><li>If you are attending on both days and sleeping over you will be provided with dinner on Saturday, plus Breakfast &amp; lunch on Sunday - but you still need to bring a packed lunch for Saturday. There will be a charge of £10 to cover food (Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast &amp; lunch)</li><li>If you are attending on Sunday only you will need a packed lunch.</li></ul>Course locationThis course is being held at Copley Scout Centre, St Ives. There is plenty of parking in the Leisure centre car park nearby.SafeguardingThe courses will be presented in accordance to Scout HQ safety guidance.There will always be two adults on the training team in the presentation room to ensure safeguarding by keeping young people safe.Recording your attendancePlease bring your Young Leader Logbook for completion by the Training Team.
