Cross UoM Future Transport Workshop

Roscoe Building Room 5.11Manchester, England
Tuesday, Mar 17 from 1 pm to 4 pm
Overview

You are invited to join a cross University of Manchester workshop exploring the future of transport in the UK.

Join researchers from across the University of Manchester for a collaborative workshop exploring what the UK’s future transport system could look like. This session brings together academics, postdocs and PhD researchers from any discipline who work on, or are interested in, transport.

What we’ll cover Through a series of interactive activities, we will explore the future of:

  • Road, aviation and maritime transport
  • Emerging fuels and technologies including hydrogen, ammonia, biofuels and electrification
  • Environmental and emissions challenges
  • People, behaviour and policy shaping transport transitions

Why attend The workshop will form the foundation of a new cross‑UoM network focused on future transport, creating opportunities for collaboration and joint research activity.

Outputs from the workshop will be developed with Sustainable Futures and Policy@Manchester, including:

  • A Future Visions for Transport research paper
  • A policy brief for UK and regional policymakers and industry

Participants will have the opportunity to shape these outputs and be included as contributors.

Who should attend Any UoM academic, postdoc or PhD researcher with an interest in transport, sustainability, energy, policy, behaviour, engineering, modelling, or related fields.

What you’ll gain

  • A chance to influence a cross‑UoM vision for future transport
  • Opportunities to connect with colleagues across disciplines
  • A pathway into future collaborative research activities

Visibility in research and policy outputs shared with decision‑makers
