Systems Change for Child Sexual Abuse Recovery Support

Hosted by the Home Office and The Children’s Society, with the NSPCC, this event will share learning and best practice developed through the Home Office-funded Child Sexual Abuse Support Services Transformation Fund.The learning event will focus on local referral and support pathways for children and young people affected by sexual abuse, exploring challenges and barriers within local systems and sharing best practice around multi-agency and partnership working. The Children’s Society and a local partner will present on the ‘Support Rethought’ programme, which has explored new ways of working with CSA victims and their families through 1-1 brief interventions, improving local systems responses to recovery support and providing national systems leadership through communities of practice.The NSPCC will present on its Child Sexual Abuse Recovery Project, which aims to improve the quality and coherence of support accessed by children, non-abusing parents and siblings affected by child sexual abuse (CSA). The pilot project is helping local safeguarding partnerships to strengthen the joint response to CSA in their local area.We will share further details about these projects with attendees in advance of the event.Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions to presenters during a panel Q+A.This event will be of interest to practitioners, commissioners of services, and policy makers, but is open to anyone with an interest in improving support for victims and survivors of child sexual abuse.
