Cut, Stick, Queer, Repeat: Pride craft session.
A workshop celebrating and exploring queer culture through collage making.
-----------
Celebrate Pride by cutting, sticking, writing, putting things together, and reimagining what queerness means to you. In this workshop, we’ll explore queer culture through art, music, and literature, and build our own pictures of queer joy by making mini-collages and flyers.
Expect to learn about queer history, and meet new friends, but mostly cutting things into weird shapes and getting them to fit together in different ways on paper.
The workshop will be hosted by author Celina Belotti - who's not very good at crafting, but knows a lot about queerness, books and random stuff - in partnership with the Idea Store.
Bring your friends, make new ones, and leave with something you’ve made that reflects your own relationship with queerness.
Plan for the day:
17:30 - Welcome and snacks
18:00 - 'Queer' crowd knowledge - We'll take some time to talk about queerness and build a crowd bubble of what it means.
18:30 - Let's get collaging - We'll have one hour to get our hands dirty, cut things into shape, place them in different ways and make our own portraits of queer joy.
19:45 - Debrief!
