Scything is one of the oldest agricultural skills, used since humanity started agriculture. This day long course gives you a chance to re-connect with this ancient skill.
Taught by the experience scyther, Beth Tilston, the course will cover the following:
- How to set up the scythe to fit your body
- Scythe safety
- Mowing technique
- Sharpening technique
- How to peen (cold forging the blade to help it stay sharp)
- How to mow tricky areas
