Overview

CWÎR is a space for LGBTQIA+ creatives in Cardiff to connect, collaborate and grow through workshops and community.

Building on the foundations of GORWEL, we’re excited to launch CWÎR: Creative Community, a new collaboration between Creative Cardiff and Lone Worlds. Funded by Arts Council of Wales, CWÎR offers LGBTQIA+ creatives a queer-led, safe and welcoming space to connect, share and collaborate.

Each event will spotlight an LGBTQIA+ creative working in a different area of the industry, leading practical and hands-on sessions designed to share knowledge, nurture ideas and encourage meaningful networking and collaboration.

CWÎR aims to build lasting professional and personal connections across Cardiff’s creative sector, increasing visibility and creating opportunities for queer-led, grassroots and community-driven initiatives.

May's session: Ivy Kelly What Do You Do? Answering the difficult question of what you do and how you name it

For many creatives this can be a difficult question, whether you’re still trying to define your practice, or you’re balancing all sorts of working roles.

This is a workshop about how you can best name your working title, and then adapt it to a range of contexts, from job interviewing to social networking.

During the workshop you’ll be invited to respond to different prompts and ideas in a group setting, so participation is encouraged.

Ivy Kelly has made a name for herself in supporting emerging artists and co-creating with historically excluded communities. Ivy has followed this path since founding the collective Lone Worlds and continues to facilitate safer creative spaces for LGBTQIA+ community in South Wales. Ivy’s podcast, IVY-TV, focuses on platforming a wide range of inspirational Welsh creatives who've found success despite whatever obstacles and challenges they may have faced.

Gan adeiladu ar sylfeini GORWEL, rydym yn gyffrous i lansio CWÎR: Cymuned Greadigol, cydweithrediad newydd rhwng Caerdydd Creadigol a Lone Worlds. Wedi'i ariannu gan Gyngor Celfyddydau Cymru, mae CWÎR yn cynnig lle diogel a chroesawgar dan arweiniad queer i greadigwyr LGBTQIA+ gysylltu, rhannu a chydweithio.

Bydd pob digwyddiad yn tynnu sylw at greadigwr LGBTQIA+ sy'n gweithio mewn maes gwahanol o'r diwydiant, gan arwain sesiynau ymarferol a chymhellol wedi'u cynllunio i rannu gwybodaeth, meithrin syniadau ac annog rhwydweithio a chydweithio ystyrlon.

Nod CWÎR yw meithrin cysylltiadau proffesiynol a phersonol parhaol ar draws sector creadigol Caerdydd, gan gynyddu gwelededd a chreu cyfleoedd ar gyfer mentrau dan arweiniad pobl hoyw, ar lawr gwlad ac yn y gymuned.

Sesiwn mis Mai: Ivy Kelly Beth yw eich teitl? Ateb y cwestiwn cymhleth o beth rydych chi’n neud a sut i’u henwi

mae hyn yn gwestiwn heriol i lawer o greadigwyr, naill fod chi’n dal i drio diffinio eich ymarfer, neu dych chi’n cydbwyso holl fath o rolau proffesiynol gwahanol.

Mae’r gweithdy yma amdan y broses o enwi’ch teitl gweithio i’r gorau a’i addasu i bob math o sefyllfa - o gyfweliadau i rwydweithio cymdeithasol.

Mae Ivy Kelly wedi’i adnabod trwy gefnogi artistiaid cyfodol a chyd-greu gyda chymunedau wedi’i wahardd yn hanesyddol. Mae Ivy wedi dilyn y llwybr yma ers sefydlu’r gydweithfa Lone Worlds ac mae hi’n parhau i hwyluso gofodau diogel i gymuned LHDTCIA+ yn De Cymru. Mae podcast Ivy, IVY-TV, yn ffocysu ar lwyfannu amrywiaeth eang o creadigwyr ysbrydoledig Cymraeg sydd wedi adeiladu llwyddiant er yr her a rhwystrau mae wedi wynebu.
