Do we need to complete the Cyber Explorers learning programme before entering?

It is recommended that you have completed all the Cyber Explorers Challenges and Missions. The questions are all closely linked to the learning programme content and the more you know beforehand, the more likely you are to win!

Do we each need a separate laptop/desktop?

Accepted Answer

Yes, ideally the team of 4-6 will each use their own laptop/desktop. As a teacher, you will need a separate laptop/desktop to use the MS Teams chat. We recommend the use of headphones too.

Can the team use additional online resources, e.g., search engines?

Accepted Answer

Yes, consider this an 'open book' competition, and you will almost certainly need to conduct additional online research to answer all the questions.

Will the team need any other resources?

Yes, a good old fashioned pen and paper is recommended as many of the questions will require you to revisit previous answers (shhhh, as this is a secret top tip!)

Do we all need to answer the same questions?

Accepted Answer

Once a team member answers a question, it is considered answered for the entire team. This is because all team members share the same profile in the competition.

Question 8

Do I need to join the competition before it starts?

Accepted Answer

Yes, teachers should join the MS Teams chat at least 15 mins before the 1-hour session in order to receive log in credentials to the competition platform.
