Cyber Security – Do You Really Know the Hidden Risks?
Overview
In June 2025, 43% of UK businesses and 30% of charities reported experiencing a cyber security breach or attack in the previous year. Despite this, many people still picture cybercrime as a lone hacker in a dark room….but the reality is very different.
As part of Cyber Scotland Week, this session will explore what cyber security attacks actually look like in practice. Martin Collier, Director at NovaBytes, will share real examples and help you understand the preventative measures that can protect your organisation amidst the rapid escalation of cyber threats in 2026.
You will also hear more about our MSc in Cyber Security, an 18‑month, fully funded programme that provides graduates with academic qualifications and work‑based learning to help them take the next step in their cyber security career. Martin is currently studying towards this MSc and will share his experience.
