Stronger Kent Communities

Cyber Essentials is a UK Govt-backed certification to protect data. A webinar covers its benefits, implementation, and success stories.

<p><a href="https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/cyberessentials/" title="https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/cyberessentials/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Cyber Essentials</a> is a UK Government-backed certification scheme that helps keep organisations and their customers' data safe from cyber attacks. It is managed by the UK's <a href="https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/" title="https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC, part of GCHQ)</a>, and delivered by NCSC's official partner <a href="https://iasme.co.uk/" title="https://iasme.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">IASME</a>, its nationwide network of assessors and advisors. It can provide the minimum standard of cyber security for all organisations, including large ones and SMEs. </p><p>The webinar will explain why Cyber Essentials is important, what its benefits are and how it can be implemented, focusing on your team and organisation rather than the technology. Speakers will include a cyber security consultant who has helped small organisations implement Cyber Essentials successfully, and a representative of an organisation which has achieved it, to describe their thinking and experience. The webinar will also see a short introduction to <a href="https://kmcc-uk.org/" title="https://kmcc-uk.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">KMCC (Kent &amp; Medway Cyber Cluster Ltd)</a> and <a href="https://www.ecrcentre.co.uk/" title="https://www.ecrcentre.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">ECRC (Eastern Cyber Resilience Centre)</a>, two local/regional cyber security community building bodies and co-organise of the event together with the <a href="https://strongerkentcommunities.org.uk/" title="https://strongerkentcommunities.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">SKC (Stronger Kent Communities)</a>. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions to the speakers.</p>
