Welcome to the Cycle Fest All Colours Rides!
We're celebrating the green and blue ways around South Manchester and exploring them by bike.
Please check out the different ride options below and book your free slot /s for the one you fancy. Any questions at all, drop Anna a line : community@stationsouth.co.uk.
Make sure to take note of start times for each ride as they vary a bit due to variations in routes + distances.
Pink and Blue expect to be on the saddle for 3-4 hours, Yellow for 1.5 hours.

1) Y E L L O W (A) : Family Pootle to Debdale
Time : 11am @ Station South Benches
Distance / speed / notes : A gentle 5 mile / 7km off-road ride along the Fallowfield Loop and over to Debdale Reservoir [for a fun activity!] and back. This is suitable for families and adults who want a chilled, shorter ride.

2 ) Y E L L O W (B) : Freestyle Rides to Debdale
Time : From 10.30am
Distance / speed / notes : The find-your-own way ride for adventurous families and riders who fancy going at your own pace and set off times. Buddy up with other riders and groups or go it alone. We can give you a paper or digital map to help with directions for this gentle 5 mile / 7km off-road ride along the Fallowfield Loop and over to Debdale Reservoire [for a fun activity!] and back. Please note - if you’re after a led-ride for this route, take a look at ‘Yellow 1’ to ride with Gosia and Sumayra.

3 ) Y E L L O W (C) : eBike Trials + Ride to Debdale [18+]
Time : 10.30am + 12noon @ Station South Benches
Distance / speed / notes : A 6 mile / 8 km off-road ride along the Fallowfield Loop and over to and around Debdale Reservoire and back, trialling Cycling UK’s fleet of eBikes! Not suitable for beginners who have just started cycling or children. [Please see the ‘Yellow : A’ ride for this!]

4) B L U E (A): Women’s Ride to the National Cycling Centre
Time : 9.50am for a 10am departure @ Station South Benches
Distance / speed / notes : A 9 miles / 14km chilled and traffic-free ride east along the Fallowfield Loop, along the ‘Yellow Brick Road’ and Ashton Canal to take a look at the brilliant National Cycling Centre where the Canal + River Trust will greet us with cheers + goodies. Option for a coffee break and peek at the track before sauntering back for festivities at Station South. Suitable for riders confident in proximity to water and riding in a group.

5) B L U E (B) : Mixed Ride to Castlefield Viaduct
Time : 9.50am for a 10am departure @ Station South Benches
Distance / speed / notes : A 21 miles / 34 km chilled and traffic-free ride west along the Fallowfield Loop, through Chorlton Ees and along the Bridgewater Canal to visit the super cool Castlefield Viaduct where reps from the National Trust will greet us with cheers + goodies. Suitable for riders confident in proximity to water and riding in a group.

6) P I N K (A) : Gravel Ride to Lyme Park
Time : 8.50am for a 9am departure
Distance / speed / notes : A 37 miles / 60km gravel ride along canals, through tunnels, across aqueducts and along the fun bumpy trails over to Lyme Park. We promise amazing views and routes you never knew existed so close to home! Suitable for confident riders who are comfortable with the distance advertised as well as muddy and loose gravel / bumpy sections. There are also 2 big climbs over Lyme park and Werneth low.
Non-dropping and we’ll stop for coffee at some point.

7) P I N K (B) : Peaks Explorer Road Ride
Time : 8.50am @ Station South Benches
Distance / speed / notes : A 50 miles / 80km speedier [but still super friendly!] ride to the hills for some classic Peak District Climbs from Brickworks to Windgather to Blaze Hill. We’ll be riding at 28kmph on the flat with every rider taking the hills at their own pace where we’ll regroup at the top.
Non-dropping and we’ll stop for a quick coffee at some point.

If for any reason your circumstances change and you can no longer join us, please let us know with as much notice as possible and we can give your space to someone else. The size of the groups are limited: if the ride is oversubscribed then priority will be given to those who have signed up. Thank you!

How we ride: Our goal is to be a friendly and inclusive cycle club. To achieve this aim we expect all riders to:

- Be friendly and supportive to all riders
- Be self-sufficient (e.g. bring appropriate spares and supplies)
